TV's Greatest Sidekicks
On November 25th Lifetime Television brought
TV's Greatest Sidekicks to the classic sitcom audience. This special featured interviews with the actresses from such
sitcoms as "The Golden Girls" (Beatrice Arthur, Rue McClanahan, Betty White); "Maude" (Beatrice Arthur, Rue McClanahan); 227
(Marla Gibbs, Jakee Harry) and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" ( Georgia Engel, Betty White, Valerie Harper) as well as commentaries
from Judith Light, Renne Taylor and Fran Drescher. The show also included clips from some of America's favorite sitcoms
from the past few decades. This special was hosted by Laverne & Shirley stars Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams and
Directed by Dennis Rosenblatt. It was great to see these stars again after such a long absence. Thanks Lifetime for this bit
of nostalgia!
Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams received a star on the Walk Of Fame on Thursday, August 12th. This was in recognition of their work on the well loved
ABC sitcom Laverne & Shirley. For Penny as
a Director and Cindy as a Producer. Congratulations Penny and Cindy!
